Adur

Adur is a small but diverse district. Though covering a mere 16 square miles, it manages to sustain an airport (one of the oldest in the country), a commercial port and a river. Whilst the coastal stretch is primarily urban, around half the district is undulating downland designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The River Adur divides Shoreham-by-Sea, Southwick and Fishersgate in the east, from Coombes, Lancing and Sompting in the west. The variety of different environments ensures a vibrant and interesting community with a plethora of lifestyles. However, Adur is not an entirely affluent area and some wards in the district are areas which show high levels of deprivation.
