- Support older people’s ability to live independently for longer
- Prevent health and social breakdown
- Strengthen our communities to make them better places to live and work

Governance
The AOPN is made up of voluntary groups which provide any type of care, service or activity for older people in Adur.
A Steering Group meets quarterly and oversees the development of the Adur Older Persons’ Network. This includes overseeing, informing and directing the work of its staff teams. Membership of the Steering Group is not just open to those voluntary groups which employ staff. We have set aside spaces on the Steering Group for representatives from other – perhaps smaller – voluntary and community groups, or skilled individuals with an interest and commitment. Current members include:
Of our Steering Group members, Adur & Worthing CAB, Age UK West Sussex, and Circles Network employ staff which support the AOPN and its member groups. Guild Care employ staff which are a part of the Adur and Worthing Community Partnership Team.
To find out more about how AOPN is organised, read our Terms of Reference.
If you’re interested in joining the Steering Group, please contact Val Garland and Pam Simons.
